Project I AM


Jahkil Naeem Jackson is a best selling author, social entrepreneur and founder of Project I Am, a nonprofit organization he created when he was eight years old. Now 13, Jahkil has a heartfelt desire to help those in need. Jahkil’s mission is to build awareness of homelessness and to help the homeless population by offering “Blessing Bags,” a giveaway filled with masks, wipes, socks, deodorant, hand sanitizer, and more. In just a few years, Jahkil’s efforts have touched over 50,000 men, women, and children internationally.

To continue to reach his goals, he raises funds by selling his Power Pillows and shirts and from the public for supplies and shipping. Jahkil has been named a Youth Ambassador for Heartland Alliance, is a member of the WE International Youth Council, and has received several awards, honors and acknowledgements by multiple corporations, organizations and media outlets. Most notably, Jahkil was acknowledged as one of three influential people of 2017 by President Barack Obama and the Obama Foundation. Jahkil was also tapped to participate Disney’s Be Inspired Black History Campaign, Lebron James’ #AlwaysBelieve 2018 campaign, Nike’s Until We All Win & You Can’t Stop Our Voice campaigns and is now a Marvel Super Hero and CNN Hero Young Wonder! Even with his many accomplishments, Jahkil has experienced bullying first-hand.

As a youth advocate and mentor, he decided to write “I Am” to encourage children to stay positive, encouraged and never doubt themselves or their abilities. He hopes that this book will inspire kids to be great no matter what comes their way.


Jahkil is one very busy 13-year-old. When he isn’t hard at work distributing Blessing Bags, he can be found doing one of several extra-curricular activities. Jahkil is an avid basketball player, is a member of the Stick and Move breakdance team, and also tap dances with Madd Rhythms. The thespian-in-the-making has been featured in the short film Candles and Made in His Image, Fox Television’s “Empire,” and NBC’s “Chicago PD”, a Chuckie Cheese and K-mart commercial, modeled “Jordan Rivals” for Kids Footlocker, the GAP “Next Gen” campaign and was a member of the Porgy and Bess opera at Chicago’s Lyric Opera House. Additionally, he trains with Second City and Kids W.A.Y. Acting Academy.

Jahkil believes that we are all winners in everything that we strive to accomplish in life. To encourage others to do their best at whatever they do, Jahkil has created TROPHIES, a line of shirts, hoodies and pillows. A portion of the proceeds from TROPHIES go to Project I Am to help fund Blessing Bag purchases.
